This summer I produced a new short film by the director Begonia Colomar. I had already worked with her as the producer of her last short film Leal and love her artistic and personal style. Reason is a short, narrative film that explores the human search for connection, understanding, and reason for being. The story takes place on a solitary beach where a group of people meditate about their various stages on this search.
We ran a successful fundraising campaign which allowed us to shoot with the RED Epic in the National Park of Sandy Hook, New Jersey and lodge the cast and crew for 1 day of prep and 2 days of intensive shooting. I was excited to take the challenge of managing the 19 members of the team on a beach with no facilities. The boiling sun and the extreme changes in the tides were challenging, but the results were beautiful. Reason is now in post-production, where our 3D artist is currently modeling a CGI mythical creature.
